Biography
 

     

       A native of Naples, Italy, Paolo Tatafiore comes from a family of composers, pianists, conductors and painters. He started his musical training at the age of seven, having already shown great interest and extraordinary talent for the "Pianoforte".

       He studied Piano, Organ and Composition with Claudio Graziano, Aladino Di Martino, Bruno Mazzotta and Vincenzo De Gregorio in the Conservatories of Naples, Avellino and Salerno. Soon after the completion of his regular studies he undertook a long series of Masterclasses in Italy, with Carlo Bruno, Maria Tipo and other famed pianists.

 

       He then started his career appearing in Piano Recitals and Concerts with Orchestra as well as in Chamber Music ensembles, at several Italian or International Music Festivals. He has performed, among others, for the RAI - Italian Radio and Television Piano Festival, the "Arts Academy" in Rome, the "Musica D'Estate" festival of Anzio (Rome), and more. 

       During the same period he received his degree in Ancient Literatures and Archeology at "Federico the II" University of Naples. Tatafiore also became a passionate and devoted Teacher in the Italian Middle Schools with musical orientation and in the Conservatory of Music "D.Cimarosa" in Avellino. He continues his teaching to this day. 

       Among his recordings is a live performance of Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto at the Herkulessaal der Residenz in Munich and the Veranstaltungsforum in Fuerstenfeldbruck, Germany, broadcasted on the spot by the Bavarian Radio Station, which has been highly praised in Europe and America. 

       At the beginning of the new Millennium he moved to the United States. He has performed in New York City for some members of the Association Of Performing Arts Presenters in order to introduce the Italian Fazioli Piano to the American audiences. He has recently recorded the world premiere of piano music by American composer Mr. Murray Hidary. Other engagements in New York include recitals for the City University, CUNY, the Auditorium of New York City Public Library at Donnell Center and more.

       Mr. Tatafiore has worked in close contact with the American Symphony Orchestra League. He has performed as a soloist under Darrell Lee Music's leadership with the "Stow Symphony Orchestra" in Ohio. 

       Since 2009 he lives in Muenchen, Germany.
